Wine on a Dime Recognizes the economic crisis happening right now. Two years ago, a weekend trip to a local winery on a monetary scale, was within reason. Today, by the time many of us have paid for just the “wine tastings,” we have already overspent our budgets. Here at Wine on a Dime we seek to remedy that problem.
Whether you are a wine enthusiast, or just looking to enjoy a nice crisp glass of wine, Wine on a Dime is your one-stop shop. There is no longer a need to reach deep into your pockets or break the bank in an earnest attempt to find a good wine. Wine on a Dime offers a vast array of cost efficient wines that any wine lover can enjoy. From our knowledgeable staff, to our ten-cent wine tastings, anyone can leave with the confidence of knowing that they have chosen a wine fit to suit their needs, and the practice of “Wine Roulette” becomes obsolete.

As 2009 drew to a close, our editors took a critical look back over the Spring, Summer and Fall Silver Anniversary issues to cull the most outstanding California still wines from the BuyLine archives. To mark 25 years of publishing Wine News, we are calling out 125 top picks based on both performance and price (most memorable wines priced from $25 and up). Though the majority have likely sold out at the winery, in the current economic climate, many higher-priced bottles remain on retail shelves; some of the very best are even being discounted to make room for spring’s pending releases. Wines are listed alphabetically by winery name within each numeric score. Case quantities are noted when provided by the winery.
